The DuraPlate® AeroSkirt™ is an aerodynamic solution for over-the-road trailers, manufactured with DuraPlate composite panels. DuraPlate® is a proven structural composite material consisting of two external skins thermally bonded to a high-density polyethylene core. The unique proprietary design provides light weight, impact resistance and gives the material exceptional strength and durability. The DuraPlate® AeroSkirt™ is EPA SmartWay℠ verified and produces a fuel efficiency improvement of 6%.
The DuraPlate® AeroSkirt™ can be installed on existing fleet equipment or factory-installed on new trailer orders. It is easy to install and can be mounted on any make or model. The DuraPlate® panels are constructed in three sections to streamline shipping, installation and repair. Easy-mount brackets are fastened to the trailer cross-members and then the panels are attached to the mounting brackets. The flexible PVC lower section remains rigid on the road but can absorb impact. It also features unique safety brackets that provide added security in the unlikely event that the standard connections fail. These brackets also provide extra rigidity while the skirt is on the road. Custom colors are available and a typical installation can be completed in two hours.
