SmartTruck introduced its next generation of aerodynamic products for the trucking industry in early 2012. Their Trailer UnderTray (UT) design was first available with the popular UT-6 System, which offers a 7% improvement in fuel savings. The new UT-1 System is a lower-cost and smaller version of the UT-6 System. Its sleek two-component design delivers a 5.5% highway fuel efficiency improvement and can easily be upgraded to the full UT-6 System by adding a single component. Both systems are EPA SmartWay verified and CARB compliant, and offer an alternative aerodynamic solution to trailer side skirts.
The patent pending Trailer UnderTray System combines performance, savings, and durability. With different configurations and options, the UT System allows fleets and drivers versatility in their choice of the components to match their driving cycles and equipment budgets. And with the addition of SmartTruck’s Side Fairings to the UT-6 system, the fuel-efficiency improvement increases to over 10% for highway driving.
All products are made of tough polyethylene plastic designed to last the life of the trailer, and proven to stand up to the abuse of the road, chemicals, and weather. UnderTray Systems are installed well within the footprint of your trailer, and also provide significant ground clearance to avoid road and loading facility obstacles and challenges. Another plus is the ability of UnderTray equipped trailers to be loaded onto railcars. The system weighs just 195 pounds installed. UnderTray Systems can easily be added to an existing trailer or included with new or refurbished trailers. Fast and easy installation is one of the most attractive advantages of the UT systems – the UT-1 can be installed by one person in less than one hour, and the UT-6 can be installed by one person in less than two hours.

The UnderTray Systems come with a standard 3 year warranty. SmartTruck will either replace defective components at no cost or refund the cost of the defective components.
