Trucking businesses have busy schedules, leaving them little time to stay current on transportation regulations they encounter delivering freight across the country. Few have the luxury of staff that can research local, regional and national air quality rules much less develop the best strategies for updating their fleets to stay in compliance and maximize use of assets. That is where Cascade Sierra Solutions (CSS) can help.

CSS can break down the barriers trucking firms face by providing unbiased regulatory advice in a friendly setting, assisting truck owners to understand proven technologies options and accessing financial assistance in the form of Federal or State grants, low interest leases or loans and energy tax incentives.

CSS operates Green Truck Centers near major truck stops and seaports that provide a one-stop shop approach that offers the information trucking businesses need most in one convenient location. Technical Advisors are on hand at every location to assist with rule interpretations, explain which of the more than 50 proven products and technologies are appropriate for your application and assist with arranging financing solutions. Our website is here to provide 24/7 assistance to connect you with the links to a wealth of information whenever you need answers.

CALIFORNIA

Rulemaking by the California EPA, Air Resources Board (CARB) leads the nation with respect to implementation and enforcement dates. California is home to three of the largest seaports in the nation. As a result, most trucking companies have trucks that travel to California or are affected by the state’s trucking regulations. Many states have modeled their rulemaking by what is implemented in California.

CSS personnel are well versed in the California regulations affecting heavy-duty freight movement and we have designed and administered grant projects in several California Air Quality Management Districts. Contact our Technical Advisors at any of our Green Truck Centers for more details or work with our consulting services to design a compliance schedule for your fleet.

WASHINGTON

The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (PSCAA), with program partners Port of Seattle and the Washington Department of Ecology, introduced the Seaport Truck Scrappage and Retrofits for Puget Sound (ScRAPS) program in 2009. The program was designed to remove the most polluting port trucks from the Seattle ports. Since November, 2009, over 280 older drayage trucks have been removed from area roads. CSS administered the scrapping portion of the program for the PSCAA from our Seattle Green Truck Center and continues to administer the retrofit portion of the program. By December 31, 2017, all drayage trucks visiting the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma must meet 2007 engine emission standards.
