Arctic BREEZE Truck A/C Systems let you cool your cab without idling your engine and without running an APU. Not only are Arctic BREEZE systems cost efficient they are quiet, light weight and emit zero emissions – meeting all idling regulations. The systems are available in many different configurations to accommodate vehicles ranging from a ¾ ton printer delivery van to a full size highway sleeper truck.

Models are available in 12 and 24 volt DC battery powered systems. Most applications are powered by four group 31 AGM batteries - the four existing truck batteries are removed and replaced by these top quality AGM batteries. The 12volt battery operated systems draw 45 amps and provide 8000 BTUs of cooling. Based on a duty cycle of 50-60%, standard units consume only 350 watt/hr. on average. Two extra batteries are often added for increased capacity, depending on the application. The batteries are protected from a deep discharge situation by a low voltage disconnect switch. This enables the same AGM batteries to be used for starting the truck as well as running the Arctic Breeze Truck A/C system for 8 to 16 hours, independent of any fuel fired appliances. The A/C system is often paired with a diesel fired air heater for year around climate control.

Hammond also offers a shore power option. This 110 volt A/C power option consists of a 70 amp 12 volt DC output, fully automatic battery charger that runs off a standard 15 amp 110 volt circuit. The option kit includes all necessary wires and equipment plus a shore power plug for easy, neat hookup to a shore power pedestal. This charger will supply enough 12 volt power to run the Arctic Breeze air conditioner indefinitely and charge the batteries so that other cab options can also be used.

Arctic BREEZE Truck A/C systems are delivered in complete ready-to-install kits for use in any make or model of day cab or sleeper cab, and are easily transferred to a new or different truck if necessary.
