The Dynasys APU with shore power option is a self-contained, stand-alone AC generator, air conditioner and heater system. The only items that are shared with the truck systems are the fuel and battery supply. It is protected in its own stainless steel weatherproof enclosure and externally mounted on the truck rail. The mounting system offers maximum flexibility to accommodate all current Class 8 truck frames and can be located on either side of the truck and behind fairings.
It utilizes R134a hermetic-style A/C and electric heating to provide year-round comfort, with 12,000 BTU’s of cooling and heating. A belt-driven generator supplies 6000W of 120V power to run appliances. The one touch control panel offers numerous functions through a microprocessor interface; including battery monitoring and charging, pre-warming of the truck engine, pre-cooling of the cabin, and efficient starting and stopping of the system to achieve maximum fuel savings. The Shore Power option has been designed to allow users maximum flexibility with regard to energy sources. A transfer switch automatically selects between the APU or a shore power connection.
Service intervals match the truck’s maintenance schedule, with an oil change interval of 1,000 hours. Removable cover provides easy access to all maintenance items. Weighing in at 385 lbs., the Dynasys provides dependable comfort during down times, reduces emissions, and dramatically lowers fuel costs.
