The diesel powered DPS6500 APU saves fuel, runs quieter than the truck engine, reduces emissions, and provides reliable, all-night comfort for the driver. It is a fully contained auxiliary power unit in an easy-to-access and service, shock-resistant, weatherproof compartment that mounts directly to the frame rail. Weather tight, removable panels provide immediate access to serviceable components.
The unit Is powered by a 2-cylinder, 14-horsepower diesel engine and provides heating and air conditioning for the cab, battery monitoring and charging for the main engine batteries, engine warming for the main engine, and remote control starting (set by time or temperature if desired). The “Co-Pilot Design” control panel gives the driver easy access to control all features from inside the cab or sleeper.
The unit is can also be powered by Shore Power which can be utilized anywhere there is 120-volts of electrical power available. Installed system weight is approximately 485 lbs.
