Installing Proheat Air heaters saves money for fleets and independent operators by eliminating the need to idle the truck engine. Their high-efficiency design reduces fuel consumption by 95% in comparison to idling the engine, reducing unnecessary engine wear and decreasing overall vehicle emissions. The heaters are available in 2 and 4 kilowatt versions. The Proheat A2 provides 6,800 BTUs of heating and the Proheat A4 provides 13,600 BTUs. Both models feature built-in temperature sensors for safety and control, and each includes a digital Driver Control Panel (DCP) that makes set-up and operation of the heaters quick and easy. The surface-mount design of the control panel allows it to be installed anywhere inside the truck cab. The large backlit LCD screen displays heater status, temperature, time, and power level. Drivers can control the operation of the heaters by using timers or by specifying a temperature to maintain inside the cab. An optional diagnostic software kit is also available to help maintain peak heater performance.
Teleflex also offers the Proheat X45 auxiliary coolant heater for quick and reliable cold weather starting. An integrated pump circulates heated coolant to warm the engine block, making starting easier and reducing start-up engine wear. It provides 13 kilowatts (45,000 BTUs) of heating capacity. The Proheat X45 is powerful enough to supply heat for both engine and driver needs. With the addition of an optional heat exchanger, Proheat X45 can heat the sleeper cab for added driver comfort. And its low amperage design is a small draw on the starting battery, ensuring it is not excessively drawn down when the heater is used. An onboard electronic control panel displays heater status, and an optional digital timer for the cab adds the convenience of programing multi-event 7-day operation.
