The TriPac-ETM is an electric auxiliary idle reduction and temperature management system which offers fuel savings and clean quiet operation. The battery based system is emission-free to meet all idling regulations nationwide, including CARB requirements. Reduced operation of the tractor engine also delivers cost savings on maintenance. It provides truck cab electric power and sleeper climate control with 7,200 BTUs of cooling capacity. An optional fuel fired heater provides 7,500 BTUs of heating capacity, and an optional high output heater delivers 13,600 BTUs.
The Smart Charger Module (SCM) technology provides individual charging and discharging management for each battery, optimizes performance and extends life of the batteries, and maintains balance between the tractor and APU batteries during HVAC operation. The TK Monitor allows downloads to computer for display of the dashboard, upgrade, system monitoring, and service tests. The driver can select desired functions of the system with the simple HMI (Human Machine Interface) driver control module that is typically mounted in the bunk area.
Options include a 115 Vac shore power converter and an inverter. The entire system with 4 batteries included weighs 505 lbs. The system is backed by the Thermo King dealer network, which provides expert installation, factory-certified technicians and genuine OEM parts at over 200 locations across North America.
