The Autotherm® ERS (Energy Recovery System) No-Idle Cab Heating System is designed to provide fuel savings and comfort to commercial truckers operating in cold climates. The coolant in a warm engine contains considerable amounts of stored heat energy. The Autotherm® System recovers this energy to keep the vehicle interior warm by continuing the circulation of the hot coolant through the cab heater after engine turn off. The system uses a small easily installed motor and pump to circulate hot water in the engine block and run the vehicle’s interior fans to keep the cab warm. The central control unit located in the truck cab continuously monitors vehicle engine operation, battery voltage , engine coolant temperature, heater fan settings and other operational factors. The system functions automatically and shuts off when the coolant temperature drops to 95° F. In warm weather, it also provides cab ventilation with the AutoVent® feature that keeps excess heat from building up in a stationary vehicle cab. Whenever an Autotherm® System runs, it also automatically provides controlled engine cool-down. This prevents formation of engine hot spots that cause aluminum heads and engine valves to warp.

The T-2500D model operates on 12 volts, the T-2524D model on 24 volts. Both models consist of three main components that weigh less than five pounds and occupy less than 1/4 of a cubic foot in total volume. It burns no fuel, emits no pollution and complies with all state and federal EPA and CARB emissions requirements as a non-emitting technology. Installation is easy and can usually be completed in less than 3 hours. Comes with a two year warranty.
