Sharon Banks is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cascade Sierra Solutions. CSS brings together clean diesel technologies, low-cost financing and government grants to enable the trucking industry to save fuel and reduce emissions.
Sharon has 16 years experience in governmental finance at the Lane Regional Air Protection Agency (LRAPA)-an air quality agency in Lane County, Oregon. There she successfully launched the Everybody Wins program to finance idle reduction upgrades for heavy-duty diesel trucks. In 2006, Sharon formed CSS as a non-profit organization to expand the program.
CSS works in a unique partnership with a variety of government and private enterprise stakeholders to improve air quality and sustainability by making clean diesel options affordable to trucking businesses. Sharon has successfully managed, completed and reported on over $20 million in federal environmental grants at LRAPA and CSS.
Sharon is a team member of the West Coast Diesel Collaborative, an active member of the Puget Sound Clean Cities Coalition, a member of Oregon Environmental Council, on the Board of Clean Air Northwest and an affiliate member of EPA's SmartWay Transport Partnership.
Sharon is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a graduate of the US Army's Command & General Staff College. She also serves as a Commander in the Oregon Army National Guard.
