The CabAire system allows truck drivers to obtain amenities in their truck cabin from a securely fitted window unit. By attaching the window unit to their truck cabin window, drivers can obtain UV filtered air, heating, air conditioning, electric power, internet, and cable TV. The modular technology of the CabAire tower design provides flexibility in configuring which services are available. Each service tower supports one or two trucks, thus minimizing loss of premium real estate. CabAire also provides shore power towers, providing electric outlets for truck cabs already internally wired for external, on-pole power. Other options include shore power for TRUs and external block heater outlets. Automated payment systems, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, an intercom system, and digital cameras are provided on the towers as well. In-cab communications are also included, ensuring the driver has a live connection to truck stop staff. CabAire designed and installed its own low power LED lighting to comply with EPA’s dark sky laws.
The CabAire system adapts to small, medium and large lots, enabling idle reduction regardless of parking lot size. It can utilize odd or end-of-lot spaces to maximize the efficiency of the real estate that is available. The configurable tower design is also adaptable to hybrids and can be modified in the field as needed.
